Managing Articles
Your content calendar provides several tools for organizing and managing your article pipeline.
Viewing Article Details
Click on any keyword card in the calendar to see more information. For pending articles, you'll see the keyword and any available metrics. For generated articles, you can view the full content.
Rescheduling Articles
Moving Pending Articles
Drag any pending article card to a different date:
- Click and hold the article card
- Drag to your desired date
- Release to drop
If the target date has another pending article, they swap positions.
Why Rescheduling Matters
Strategic scheduling helps you:
- Maintain consistency — Space articles evenly throughout the week
- Prioritize topics — Move time-sensitive content to earlier dates
- Balance workload — Avoid multiple articles on the same day
Configuring Article Settings
Before generating, you can customize how each article will be created:
Accessing Settings
Hover over a pending keyword and click the settings icon (gear).
Available Options
Article Type:
- How-to guides
- Comprehensive guides
- Listicles
- Explainers
- Comparisons
- Checklists
Content Length:
- Short (~1,000 words)
- Medium (~2,000 words)
- Long (~3,000 words)
- Comprehensive (3,000+ words)
These settings affect only the selected article. Default preferences for new articles are configured in Product Settings.
Deleting Keywords
To remove a keyword from your calendar:
- Hover over the pending article card
- Click the delete icon (trash)
- The keyword is removed immediately
Only pending articles can be deleted from the calendar. Generated and published articles are preserved in your Content History even if you'd prefer not to use them.
Understanding the Calendar Layout
Three-Month View
The calendar shows today plus approximately three months ahead, giving you visibility into your content pipeline.
Today's Highlight
The current date is highlighted with a distinct border, making it easy to find articles ready for generation.
Status Indicators
Each article card shows its current state:
- Blue badge — Pending (awaiting generation)
- Yellow badge — Generated (ready for review)
- Green badge — Published (live on your site)
Best Practices
Maintain a Buffer
Keep at least 1-2 weeks of scheduled keywords ahead of today. This gives you flexibility and ensures you always have content ready.
Review Weekly
Spend a few minutes each week reviewing your calendar:
- Are keywords scheduled on appropriate dates?
- Do you have enough variety in topics?
- Are any high-priority keywords coming up?
Generate Promptly
When keywords reach their scheduled date, generate them promptly. Consistent publishing signals to search engines that your site is active and authoritative.
Don't Overcommit
Schedule a realistic number of articles based on your plan's credits and your available time for review. Quality matters more than quantity.
Calendar Limitations
- 60-day planning window — Keywords are distributed within the next 60 days of available slots
- One article per day — Each date can hold one scheduled keyword
- No past scheduling — You can only schedule for today or future dates
