Target Audiences

Defining your target audiences helps Lovarank create content that speaks directly to your ideal readers. Articles become more relevant, engaging, and effective when written for specific people.

Accessing Target Audiences

  1. Click Product Settings in the sidebar
  2. Scroll to the Target Audiences section

Adding Target Audiences

Click in the target audiences field and type a description of one of your audience segments. Press Enter or click outside the field to add it.

You can add multiple audiences to capture different customer segments.

What to Include

Describe your audiences with enough detail that a writer could picture them:

Job Titles or Roles

Who makes decisions or uses your product?

Examples:

  • "Marketing managers at B2B SaaS companies"
  • "Small business owners running e-commerce stores"
  • "Freelance web developers"

Demographics

What general characteristics define your audience?

Examples:

  • "First-time startup founders, typically 25-40 years old"
  • "Enterprise IT directors managing teams of 10+"
  • "Side-hustlers building online businesses"

Goals and Challenges

What is your audience trying to achieve? What obstacles do they face?

Examples:

  • "Marketing managers who need to prove ROI on content but lack time to write"
  • "E-commerce owners looking to increase organic traffic without paid ads"
  • "Developers who want to add SEO to their client projects quickly"

How Target Audiences Affect Content

Writing Style

Content adapts to match reader expertise. Technical audiences get deeper explanations; beginners get more context and simpler language.

Examples and References

Articles use examples relevant to your audience's industry, role, and challenges.

Pain Points

Content naturally addresses the problems your audience faces, making articles more valuable and engaging.

Calls-to-Action

CTAs speak to your audience's specific goals and motivations.

Multiple Audiences

If you serve different customer segments, add multiple audiences:

Example for an SEO tool:

  • "Marketing managers at mid-size companies"
  • "Agency owners managing multiple client websites"
  • "Solo entrepreneurs handling their own marketing"

Lovarank considers all audiences when generating content, ensuring articles resonate broadly while remaining relevant.

Competitors

Below target audiences, you'll find a Competitors field. Add your main competitors here:

Why include competitors?

  • Helps Lovarank understand your market positioning
  • Enables more relevant comparison content
  • Provides context for differentiation

Add competitors by typing their names and pressing Enter.

Best Practices

Be Specific

Generic audiences produce generic content.

  • ❌ "Business owners"
  • ✅ "E-commerce store owners selling handmade products on Shopify"

Focus on Primary Audiences

Start with your most important 2-3 audiences. You can always add more as you refine your content strategy.

Describe Their Context

Include enough context that the AI understands their world:

  • What tools do they use?
  • What do they read?
  • What problems keep them up at night?

Update as You Learn

As you learn more about your customers, refine these descriptions. Better audience definitions lead to better content.
